A Self Care Guide: Tips For Self-Improvement

Hello everyone! How we all feeling today? Sometimes it feels like we are never going to get out of this pandemic and start living our lives again but let’s face it, the worst is over and it can surely only get better from here (that’s what I like to think anyway) But if you’re struggling to cope, not sure how to make yourself feel better or just want to up your self-care routine then this is the place for you!

I’m going to share with you some of my self-care routine and my tips for self-improvement! Hope you enjoy!

I found reading has really helped me be in the present moment and stopped myself worrying and over-thinking about other things in my life. After I have read I come away feeling relaxed and a lot more positive! This could be any book that helps you escape just for a little while from your everyday life. I read a chapter of ‘Good life good vibes’ by Vex King every single morning and it really changed my outlook on life!

Start a 30-day challenge

Back in April 2020 I started a 30-day workout challenge and I haven’t stopped doing exercise since! I workout for 20-30 minutes 4-5 times per week because it makes me feel good! When I feel good, it creates a more positive mind-set for me! Now you don’t even have to do a fitness challenge (but I do recommend) It could be to drink 2 litres of water everyday for 30 days or wake up early for 30 days. Whatever you want to improve about yourself, challenge yourself to do just that!

Take an online course

Knowledge is power in my opinion! Whether you want to learn an instrument, new language or are interested in a certain career path and want to learn more about it then do it!

I started taking a social media marketing business course a over a month ago now and realised I wanted to set up on my own! I now have started my own social media freelance business called Moonlit Media! (Instagram is @Moonlitmedia_)

Start meditating

I meditate when I’m feeling overwhelmed or unrested which really helps to relieve my stress and anxiety! If you are sick of feeling stressed all the time and want to have a relaxed and more positive mind-set then why not take up meditation? There are some great guided meditation apps that you can try!

Start Journaling

Buy yourself a journal (doesn’t have to be fancy) and start writing down what you are grateful for, your everyday thoughts and your goals for the future!  I do this at least once a week to clear my head and it really works!

Eat Healthier

If you’re one of those people who feels rubbish all the time and you have a sneaky suspicious that it might be your diet then this is your sign to start eating healthier! I make sure I eat healthy through the week and then eat what I want on the weekend! Don’t restrict yourself from the foods you love just reduce the amount of unhealthy food you consume and start eating better, because when you eat better you feel better and that’s when you can start to see a change in yourself!

Set boundaries

Now with Covid, it feels like you don’t want any boundaries between you and others, but I’m talking about your relationship boundaries between your friends or family members that make you feel nothing but negative and  drained. The right thing to do for yourself is to step back and make sure you have enough time for yourself instead of always giving your time to people who don’t make you feel your best self. A great way to work on yourself is to set boundaries with those who take up too much of your energy and time so that you can look after yourself before tending to their needs.

I hope this gave you some ideas on how to be the best version of yourself! I know since I’ve implemented these steps I’ve felt happier, less stressed and clear-minded!

Have a great rest of your day!

All love, S x
